Tucson High School

The “Rooted Bible Club” at Tucson High School has been reaching its campus for the last five years. Over the last couple of years, Decision Point has been able to partner with them and provide resources to host outreaches and reach their school on a new level.
This past spring, we joined their club after school as they witnessed on the sidewalk right outside Tucson High School. One of the students we witnessed with, named Adam, shared that when he first joined the Rooted Bible Club, his life was completely different. He smoked, did drugs, cussed a lot, and got into fights all the time. His whole personality, style, and even the clothes he wore were completely different.
Adam shared that he was living his life doing whatever looked good to him and didn’t care what anyone else thought. He was invited to the Rooted Bible Club by some of his close friends. Adam shared that when he started going to the Bible club, his entire perspective began to change. Hearing about Jesus changed his heart and how he understood his purpose in light of the gospel.
When school ended that year and summer came, he continued to dig deeper into his relationship with Jesus. He began going to church with his girlfriend, Ayana, who also attends the Bible club, and her family. He chose to turn away from his life of sin, follow Jesus, and get baptized. Adam wanted to live his life to glorify God rather than fulfill his own desires.
Adam’s friend Connor, who had invited him to the club, stated, “I hadn’t seen Adam all summer. When school started again and I saw Adam for the first time, I was shocked because he looked like a completely different person.”
As Adam shared this story with us on the sidewalk next to the school, he reflected on his testimony by saying, “The same spots I used to go to smoke, I now go to share Jesus with others so that Jesus can change their lives too.”
How amazing it is to see the way God uses students like Connor and Bible clubs on school campuses to reach students right where they are and introduce them to Jesus!
