How to Donate Stocks to Decision Point

Giving stocks and other non-cash assets can help you reduce or eliminate capital gains tax when you transfer part or all of your assets to a charitable organization like Decision Point before the sale. You’ll receive a tax deduction (and might see significant savings on your income tax returns). We're happy to receive your gifts of stock to advance our mission to proclaim the gospel to the next generation! Folllow these simple steps to make that gift happen

1. Make the Transfer

Contact your broker, financial advisor, or log into your online brokerage. You'll need the following pieces of information to ensure that your gift reaches Decision Point.

  • Account Name: Decision Point Ministries
  • Receiving Brokerage: Charles Schwab
  • DTC Number: 0164
  • Account Number: 2653-4209

2. Let Us Know

Our brokerage does not notify us when a gift of stock arrives, and your name will not be attached to it when it reaches our account. To ensure that we use your gift for your intended purpose as quickly as possible, please notify us of your gift when you plan to send it.

Email our team at [email protected]. Please include:

  • your name
  • the ticker symbol and number of stocks you intend to give
  • the date you plan to initiate the transfer
  • The purpose or intended destination for your gift

3. We'll Confirm With You

Once we receive your gift, we'll let you know that it successfully reached us, and also send you a donation acknowledgement letter for your records and tax purposes. Decision Point will provide a tax receipt for the fair market value of the gift on the day it was received.

For questions about the tax implications of this donation, please consult with your tax advisor and how it applies to your situation. For questions about giving to Decision Point and how we'll use your gift to reach students with the gospel, contact our team.
