Launching a Christian Club at a Christian School

Aiden, an 8th grader at King’s Academy—a Christian school in Sunnyvale—never imagined he’d need to start a Christian club on his campus. After all, everyone there already hears about Jesus in class. But everything changed last summer during a retreat, when God began to stir something new in his heart. It was there that Aiden became deeply convicted. He started noticing the students at his school, many of them hurting, searching, and unsure of what they believed. He realized that even in a Christian environment, there were students who didn’t actually know Jesus personally. Aiden could relate, he’s the first Christian in his family. That conviction led Aiden to launch an evangelism club on campus. Each week, he committed to sharing the gospel with fellow students. It was intimidating at first, so he started with the people he knew best—his own friends. During his very first conversation, something remarkable happened. After sharing the gospel, he asked if anyone wanted to receive Christ—and to his surprise, his friend Sophian said yes. As he prayed with her, she began to cry.
