"God is already on the move this year! Currently we are already coaching Student Leaders at 35 Bay Area schools. One of them is my alma mater, Albany High School. Last month, I was invited to speak at the Christian club that had recently been restarted by a Decision Point Student Leader. It was nostalgic to be on campus. Remembering how different I was when I was a student at Albany High School and thinking of how lost I was back them gave me greater urgency to proclaim the gospel to the students who showed up to the club event.
As we walked onto campus, we were greeted by a huge chalk mural on the front steps of the school - an LGBTQ Flag, celebrating "National Coming Out Day"- a reminder of the kind of worldly ideologies that students are being pressured to conform to in most of our public schools.
At lunchtime, 16 students showed up to the classroom and were welcomed by the club leaders and free food provided by a club leader’s parents. I got to share my testimony of dark times in high school, how the Lord saved me and filled my soul’s desire for justice, grace, and eternity - desires that are common to all of us because of God’s design for us. I explained how we instinctively search for justice, grace, and eternity in our broken reality, but the only place we will actually find fulfillment of these desires is in Jesus Christ.
After proclaiming the good news of God meeting all our needs on the cross, the forgiveness of sins, and the resurrection of Christ from the dead, I challenged the students to make a decision to give their lives to Jesus - repenting of their sins, believing in him and confessing him as Lord. Eight students stood up! I guided them through a prayer out loud and encouraged them in the decision they had made to follow Jesus.

In John 1:4-5, the Bible says, “In him [Jesus] was life, and the life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.” No matter how dark the San Francisco Bay Area is, no matter how dark the popular ideologies of our age are, no matter how dark the hearts of students are - when the light of Jesus shines in and breaks through, there is new life, and the darkness cannot overcome it! What a privilege it is to see the scriptures come alive in the hearts of students in these dark days. The Lord is moving, and this is still just the beginning of the school year!"
