Coaching Students with Decision Point

Sarah has been serving in youth ministry since 2021 at her home church in the Southwest suburbs of Chicago. She has a passion to see student’s lives changed by the power and love of Jesus, and to see them grow in their love for Him and others. Although she loves ministering to teenagers now, her journey to youth ministry began in an unexpected way. Already serving as a worship leader, she was focused on only pursuing ministries and ministry opportunities that revolved around worship. When she was asked to “give youth ministry a try” she reluctantly went to one youth group meeting, not expecting to enjoy it. That night the Holy Spirit did an amazing work in her heart, completely changing it from apathetic to on FIRE for the students she met. Since then she has seen revival break out in her local church youth, seen a movement of prayer and worship spreading amongst churches in her area, and a boldness for witnessing in the students she has a privilege to serve.

In 2023 the Lord started putting Decision Point on her radar, as she worked alongside the ministry for several years. She began to sense the Lord was calling her to join Decision Point on staff, and this was confirmed through many conversations with others, movements of the Spirit, and even by a drawing given to her! She applied for the job, and is beyond thrilled to be serving as a full time campus ministry staff member in the Chicagoland area! Sarah has been married to her best friend, Dave, for 15 years and they have three beautiful children.

Why I Feel Called to This Role

There is no greater joy than seeing the light in someone’s eyes when they realize that Jesus loves them, has a plan for them, and then surrenders their life to Him.  In this role I get to share, and teach students to share, that there is hope in Jesus!  Is there a greater job to be had?  I want to be used by God to help advance His kingdom here on Earth and to help raise up a bold, fearless, and love-filled generation.  There is a revival starting to spread amongst the young people in this world, and in my role at Decision Point I get to champion and equip students to join in what the Lord is already doing!
